Abstract

The effect of massive blowing on the unsteady laminar compressible boundary layer flow along the stagnation line of an infinite swept cylinder, when the freestream velocity and blowing rate vary with time, is studied. An implicit finite-difference scheme is used, together with the quasilinearization technique, to numerically solve the governing partial differential equations. Blowing is found to strongly affect skin friction, heat transfer, velocity, and total enthalpy profiles.
