Abstract
The Dynamic modes of Josephson Tunnel junctions have been investigated by the scanning laser technique and numerical simulations. The results clearly demonstrate the existence of the vortex mode and electromagnetic cavity mode which have distinctly different dc current distributions. The appropriate boundary condition used for calculations to describe our junctions was found to have the bias current fed from the edges.
