Abstract
The article focuses on the developmental nature of management decision making over a 3-year period. Initially some general organizational structures on functional management decision making are considered. The effect of different organizational structures and their influence on functional management decision making is discussed. The ‘fit’ between organizational structure, management decision making and the development of ‘key’ individual managers is considered. A case example describing the effect of organizational changes in a UK-based consumer services company is used.
