Abstract

Evidence-based practice, as the opening comments in this text state, is ‘one of the buzzwords… of current health and social care practice’. This is a timely text which unlocks some of the mysteries which can surround finding and using evidence to underpin evidence-based practice. For many occupational therapists, the publication of an accessible, readable book on the subject should be greeted with enthusiasm. Dr Taylor provides a thorough guide to various sources that will be useful in locating evidence, including the familiar books, journals, specialist and general databases and the grey literature. She also explains in clear terms how to assess the value of the evidence found, along with highly relevant examples.
