Abstract

To popularize the fundamental principles and historical development of physics to the public, to enable a broader audience to comprehend and appreciate the essence of physics, and to stimulate readers’ interest in learning and exploring the science, renowned American scientist and physicist Albert Einstein collaborated with the Polish physicist Leopold Infeld to write the popular science book The Evolution of Physics. The book consists of four chapters: the first chapter narrates the rise of mechanism; the second chapter describes its decline; the third chapter delves into fields and relativity; and the fourth chapter covers quantum theory. The book provides a detailed exposition of the development of physics, tracing the evolution of physics from classical theories of the Galileo and Newton era to the modern theories of fields, relativity, and quantum. The authors made an in-depth analysis of the representative theories of each period and the ideological contributions of the scientists involved.
