Abstract

SNePS-the Semantic Network Processing System - has been under development by Stuart Shapiro and his colleagues at the State University of New York at Buffalo since the late 1970s (Shapiro 1978, Shapiro and Rapaport 1990, Shapiro and the SNePS Impl. Group 1991, SNePS Research Group 1991). These proceedings contain twelve papers presenting various SNePS-oriented research and application projects. Quite a bit of the material is system-specific. Since the book consists of a collection of reports related only by their connection to SNePS, this review is also organized on a paper-by-paper basis, rather than as a single narrative.
