This article examines body image within the sport context and suggests that although athletes generally are more satisfied with their bodies than nonathletes, there are special considerations due to the environments in which they train and compete. Risk factors, such as weigh-ins, sport body stereotypes, and revealing uniforms, are identified, and suggestions are made for how to create a body-healthy sport environment for male and female athletes.
