Abstract

Different aspects of the atrial activation were studied experimentally in the dog using conventional electrocardiographic methods. The importance as well as the functional characteristics of the internodal pathways (anterior, middle and posterior) were established by selective blocks of these connections. The analysis of the results when compared to human electrocardiographic data allowed a better understanding of the atrial disturbances found in man.
