Abstract

The authors propose the aerodynamic designs for the high-rate axial main mine fans having the load capacity of 696-914 kW/m2, which is 4-5.3 times higher than the currently manufactured axial fans have. This result is achieved through the increased blade tip speed up to 220 m/s owing to the topological optimization of the material distribution within the physical volume f the blade by the minimum mass criterion. The new blades have an oriented structure and mass 50-70% less than the masses of the single-piece blades at the same allowable stresses and strains.
