Abstract
A pair of linear cyanamide (NCNH2) ligands, two monodentate 4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenol (L) ligands and two nitrate anions link the CuII atom into a mononuclear unit, [Cu(NO3)2(C9H8N2O)2(NCNH2)2]. The coordination polyhedron of the Cu atom is an elongated octahedron distorted by Jahn–Teller effects. Intermolecular O—H⋯O, O—H⋯N, N—H⋯O and N—H⋯N hydrogen-bonding interactions link these units into a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture.
