Abstract

The discussions from this conference basically review current information on various disorders which affect skeletal muscle either directly or indirectly. Among the many topics discussed, the pediatrician will find interesting essays on glycogen storage disease, muscular dystrophies, and hypotonic states. The section on arthrogryposis multiplex congenita was of particular interest because it highlights some of the latest research in the etiology of this problem. This book like others in the series will make a good reference source for those interested in pathologic conditions involving skeletal muscle.
