Abstract

The present article addresses the biomechanics and description of the fundamentals of volleyball. Such an approach is justified by presenting a proposal that raises awareness regarding each movement, aiming for better technical preparation, and also striving to reduce injuries during the fundamentals or during gameplay. The article aimed to describe the movements performed in the execution of volleyball fundamentals and to associate them with a safe execution, highlighting the importance of coaches' and players' awareness regarding the correct execution of movements during the game. This purpose was achieved through applied bibliographic review of an exploratory nature with a mixed approach conducted through bibliographic research, using an inductive method. Therefore, it can be concluded that even by respecting the movement patterns of the fundamentals used, there will still be chances of injury due to the high impact suffered by athletes during jumping, landing, and effort.
