Abstract
Infection with vaccinia virus strain V-MH raises the rate of incorporation of adenine- 8-C 14 into the microsomal fraction of HeLa cells. The increased amount of label incorporated has been shown to be located exclusively in RNA, and almost all of it can be recovered as adenylic acid after alkaline hydrolysis of microsomal RNA; the remainder resides in guanylic acid. Fractionation of the microsomal fraction did not lead to any one subfraction containing all the incorporated label.
