Abstract

A survey of biochemical engineering in Britain has been carried out on behalf of the Science Research Council's Chemical Engineering and Technology Committee by means of a fellowship under the auspices of the Institute of Chemical Engineers. The survey, together with its recommendations, was published by the Science Research Council this year. In the following article E. M. Crook, Professor of Biochemistry at St. Bartholomew's Medical School, London looks at biochemical engineering in Britain and the report's recommendations.
