Abstract

Biomaterials in our life plays a very vital role in term of application and also to give sufficient assistance to the pristine material to enhance, enhance its properties. Biofilm specifically made of bioabsorbable composites are widely used in various biomedical application such as scaffolding, wound healing, and skin regeneration etc. In this work, various bioabsorbable polymers, statistics of their production and demand, biomaterials, their mechanical strength, degradation time, and targeted application has been discussed and reviewed in detail. To highlight the challenges and issues related to self-healing materials has also been discussed. This review study gives good understanding to the reader to go through various bioabsorbable materials for various biomedical applications. In the last of this study, current and future scope of this bioabsorbable materials has been discussed which will lead to remarkable journey towards various prospects towards the development of bioabsorbable biofilms for bone tissue engineering and wound healing applications.
