Abstract
To solve the narrow viewing zone problem in electro-holography, we previously proposed [Appl. Opt. 63, B76 (2024)APOPAI0003-693510.1364/AO.507391] a viewing zone expansion method that uses eye-tracking to dynamically switch between multiple reconstruction lights. This paper proposes a new optical system, to our knowledge, that removes high-order diffracted light to enable binocular vision, which was not possible with the previous method. In this new system, barriers, liquid crystal shutters, and concave mirrors arranged in a fan shape remove high-order diffracted light without any mechanical movement of the optical elements. Experimental results showed that the viewing angle was expanded by a factor of 4.2 to 41.06°, which is sufficient for binocular vision. Also, it is confirmed that high-order diffracted light was properly removed.
