Abstract
The gaze tracker has been considered as an important human machine interface for consumer electronics. High accuracy/precision results are reported for some gaze trackers, but the experiments are conventionally evaluated by fixing the head position with a head support. Compared with infra-ray (IR) gaze tracker, the head movement problem becomes more complicated for a visible light gaze tracker (VLGT), which lacks the reference with the glints on the eyes produced by the IR light source. In this paper, we propose a binocular VLGT equipped with a head movement compensation mechanism. According to the evaluation, the proposed approach significantly improves the accuracy/precision of the system while operating without the head support.
