Abstract

We have calculated the baryon and dihyperon masses in the non-relativistic quark model with the pseudoscalar nonet and σ meson exchange potential. The flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking is taken into account both in the Hamiltonian and in quark wave functions. We have obtained the H-dihyperon binding energy ranges 54-70 MeV and 18-27 MeV below the ΛΛ threshold for the strength of the linear confinement potential 2.0 fm-2 and 3.0 fm-2, respectively. The range of the binding energy has its origin in the choice of the root mean square radius of bare proton (0.4-0.5 fm). The mass spectra of octet and decuplet baryons can be reproduced within the errors of a couple of percents.
