Abstract

Abstract A non-markovian version of encounter theory is proposed which consistently takes into account fast dissipative processes. Kinetic equations of vibrational molecular states dephasing at binary encounters in solutions are derived in terms of this theory. A particular case of fast molecular rotation is considered. The characteristic impurity dephasing time is calculated for the case of weak molecular interactions.
