Abstract
We consider the reactions A+A→0 and A+B→0 under stirring, modelled both by the baker's transformation (BT) and by laminar shearing (LS). The reactants are transported passively and react at first encounter. Under the BT the reactions follow the classical scheme closely, while for LS the decay is fluctuation dependent and shows complex forms.
