Abstract

For ecological, as well as for economical reasons, mechanical inter-row weeding should be widely employed again. Automatic guidance is required to attain this goal. In this paper a method is described, which provides data for a sufficiently exact steering system. Images of a maize field were recorded with a video camera, digitised and processed afterwards. Because of the pre-adjustment of the system, the deviation between the inter-row weeder's real position and it's ideal position could be ascertained.
