Abstract
Endovenous ablation of the lower extremity veins has become the primary modality treatment for symptomatic venous reflux disease. Endovenous heat induced thrombosis (EHIT) has been reported as one of the main complications of these venous ablative procedures. We have previously described the incidence of this complication and the need for routine surveillance duplex post procedure. We have noted that a number of patients developed bilateral EHITs. Our aim was to determine what, if any, factors predispose patients to developing bilateral EHITs versus unilateral EHITs.
