Abstract

The influence of core scattering effects on the dynamics of a bifurcating electronic Rydberg wavepacket is investigated in the diamagnetic Kepler problem. Results are presented for a spherically symmetric nonhydrogenic core with particular emphasis on nongeneric bifurcations of the Edmonds - Garton - Tomkins orbit.
