Abstract

Transesterification reactions yield bicyclic (caged) phosphite esters P(OCH2)3CCH2OH (1) and (P(OCH2)3CCH2)2O (2), and P(OCH2)3CCH2O2CR (R = Ph, 3; 4-tBuC6H4, 4; 4-O2NC6H4, 5; 3-pyridyl, 6; 4-pyridyl, 7; 1/2 p-C6H4, 8; 1/2 m-C6H4, 9; 1/3 1,3,5-C6H3, 10), which can act as ligands. Metal-bridged complexes and X-ray structures of 7, {[(η5-MeCp)Mn(CO)2]2(μ-2)} (11), and [CuBr(2)]∞·MeCN (12) are reported.
