Abstract

The chapter reviews bicyclic 6–6 systems with one bridgehead (ring junction) nitrogen atom: three extra heteroatoms (2:1). Nearly two dozens types of such heterocyclic systems can be found in the literature; the data in the chapter are categorized according to these subtypes. Theoretical and spectroscopic methods used for their investigation, chemical reactions, possible applications, as well as various methods for their synthesis are discussed.
