Abstract

H ow often do we as English teachers leave a theatrical performance feeling inspired, wishing we could somehow orchestrate a similar experience for students within our classrooms? After attending an Othello workshop for teachers in the summer of 2004, I was determined to somehow bring that live, aweinspiring, theatrical effect into my classroom. Four months and a grant later, I did. My high school English department secured a week-long actor residency with the workshop leader, David Daniel, actor and educational director with American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
