Abstract

ABSTRACT University Library at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) acquired a large and unique collection of foundation annual reports. It was decided that cataloging them as serials, with the attendant problems of successive entry maintenance and access, was not acceptable. The reports for each foundation were treated as a collection with a unifying, made-up main title and update-able holdings (245 $f). The concept of main entry was retained, but the actual entry changes when the foundation name changes. The authors conclude with a call to make rules 21.3B1 and 21.2C1 optional.
