Naval Engineers JournalVolume 81, Issue 6 p. 95-98 BETTER MANAGEMENTS? A REPLY TO A CHALLENGE CAPTAIN STUART C. JONES USN (RFT), CAPTAIN STUART C. JONES USN (RFT) Captain Stuart C. Jones, USN (RFT) is currently studying for his doctorate in Public Administration (majoring in Management Science) at the University of Pittsburgh under a NASA fellowship grant. He was graduated from the Naval Academy with the class of 1941, served the greater part of WWII in fire control and radar development in the USS NEW MEXICO, received an MS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from MIT, and served a variety of tours in naval shipyards, fleet and force staffs, and in the Bureau of Ships where he was New Construction Assistant in the Destroyer Type Desk and, later, Assistant Head of the Hull Design Branch. He was the Production Officer at Charleston Naval Shipyard from 1963 to 1966 and the Shipyard Commander at Boston Naval Shipyard from 1966 until his retirement in 1968. He is a registered Professional Engineer, a member of the Institute of Management Sciences, and a member of ASNE in which he has served as Chairman of the Charleston Section and Councillor for the New England section.Search for more papers by this author CAPTAIN STUART C.
