Smith, USN: attended Cornell University and graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy with the class of 1942. Four years of sea duty on USS STANS-BURY (DMS-8), USS LAFFEY (DD-724), and USS O'BRIEN (DD-725), followed by a three year tour at the U.S. Naval Academy Post Graduate Course in Electronics Engineering. Following tours of duty at Bureau of Ships, Mare Island, Mine Defense Laboratory, and CINCLANTFLT Staff, attended the George Washington Graduate School in Business Administration and Comptrollership. After tours at Charleston, BUSHIPS, and Naval Ship Engineering Center, joined Staff of Commander Cruiser Destroyer Force, U. S. Pacific Fleet as Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics. JOHNSON, LIEUTENANT COMMANDER GEORGE L. JOHNSON USN Lieutenant Commander George L. Johnson, USN.: attended Cornell University and graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy with the class of 1955. Four years of sea duty on USS CAR-PENTER (DD-825), and USS BAUER (DE-1025) was followed by a three year post graduate course at MIT where he received the degree of Master of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and the degree of Naval Engineer. Following a tour of duty at Charleston Naval Shipyard and U. S. Naval Station, Guantanamo, Cuba, he reported to his current assignment on the Staff of Commander Cruiser Destroyer Force, U. S. Pacific Fleet as Assistant Material Officer for Engineering. Lieutenant Commander Johnson is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, the American Society of Naval Engineers, and the Society of Sigma Xi.Search for more papers by this author CAPTAIN P.
