Abstract

Memres represent sermons in verses, created on the basis of the Eucharistic experience, addressed to a specific liturgical community. One of the most famous writers of these sermons is Bishop Jakov of Serushe, who is characterized by poems that touch on the deepest theological and ontological topics. In one of this memoirs, the central theme is love, but love understood as the way of existence of both God and man, in the christological key, manifested in the most direct soteriology consequences. In the annex to the paper, the author provides a translation of Memra 26, which is titled with the words About Love.
