Abstract

Cosmic-ray-produced 10Be has been determined in about 40 iron meteorites. Together with the values for 36C1, and the stable cosmic-ray-produced rare-gas isotopes obtained previously in our laboratory from the same samples, exposure ages, and in particular terrestrial ages, have been calculated for these meteorites. In many cases the previously calculated 36Cl/36Ar exposure ages had to be corrected for the decay of 36Cl, a result of high terrestrial ages. After the application of these corrections, the single events, which produced most of the iron meteorites, show up more distinctly in the exposure-age distribution curve. This is as one would expect, and has been shown previously by Voshage, using the 40K/41K method.
