Abstract

Health systems in all countries are facing a variety of challenges in providing universal access to health services or the public’s growing demands for quality care. The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, has significantly accelerated the previously of digital development. The use of telemedicine solutions is increasingly recognized as essential in coordinating complex activities that respond to emerging issues in the healthcare system. The implementation of telemedicine solutions aims to promote efficiency in healthcare services and improve healthcare infrastructure. In particular, the rising costs of healthcare systems, as well as rapid technological advances in medicine or demographic changes, justify the use of telemedicine in the area of health.The aim of the article is to assess the benefits of using the potential of telemedicine for the health care system, doctors and patients. The article uses the analysis of the literature on the subject and the results of own research on the use of telemedicine solutions in hospitals on the example of the Łódź Voivodeship.
