Abstract

This article is the first in a three‐part series on beneficial arthropods. It will highlight some beneficial insects that kill crop pests and are largely unnoticed in the Corn Belt and Great Plains. The focus will be on two groups of insects that survive by eating insect pests of crops: predators and parasitoids.
