Abstract
Various documents, laws and decrees, preschool education programmes, methodical literature and other documents related with kindergartens everyday life in Soviet times are described and analyzed in this article. The investigations are illustrated by empiric data, such as interviews with educators and scholars from Soviet period as the direct witnesses of this historical period of education process. Memories from actual experts enables us to get knowledge and to understand much more clearly the whole development of education process in Lithuania in the context of Soviet period realities, and to compare it with contemporary education postulates.
