Abstract

Nano-TiC powder was introduced into sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets and the effect of adding content on mechanical and magnetic properties was investigated. The results show that the bending strength is significantly enhanced, showing an increase of approximately 28% for 0.6 wt% doping magnet compared to the Ref. sample without addition. Meanwhile, the coercivity and squareness degree are enhanced to a certain extent without obvious remanence reduction. Microstructural analysis shows that the nano-TiC particles mainly segregate at triple junction regions, which plays a key role in the enhancement of bending strength.
