Abstract

How to obtain the behavioral consistency degree of different process models in workflow systems is a key point in process matching, process fusion, and difference detection. Workflow net with data (WFD-net) and its extension (EWFD-net) are effective languages to describe and analyze the process model. In practice, checking the consistency of two EWFD-nets is a challenging task since many existing methods for measuring consistency have failed to take data-flows into account, especially when the corresponding relation of data-flows is complex. Thus, these methods cannot accurately manifest the real consistency degree of two EWFD-nets. To solve this problem, we define a more accurate relation of transition pairs in two EWFD-nets based on data dependencies and guard functions. We discover that the consistency degree of two EWFD-nets is uncertain when we consider the values of guard functions. Based on them, new behavioral relation matrices are constructed to quantify the real behavioral consistency degree of two EWFD-nets. Finally, we do a series of experiments to assess our method and demonstrate its efficacy.
