Abstract
Abstract Three insecticides were evaluated to determine their effects on bean leaf beetle, brown stink bug, green stink bug, and spiders. Insecticides were applied Sep 24 on ‘Bay’ soybeans on the E.F. Chandler Farm in Westmoreland Co near Montross, VA. Plots consisted of 6 rows, 25 ft long, with a 3-ft row spacing. A randomized block design with 3 replications was used. The insecticides were applied with a CO2 powered backpack sprayer at 32 psi that delivered 29 gal/acre total spray volume. Treatments were evaluated at 1, 4, and 7 days after treatment by comparing the number of total stink bugs, bean leaf beetles, and spiders captured in a 38-cm diameter sweep net using 30 sweeps per sample.
