Abstract

The Tritron is a superconducting separated-orbit cyclotron with constant turn separation of 4 cm. The field setting of the channel magnets is calculated which is necessary to bring the beam on to the desired spiral orbit. A treatment of the incoherent synchrotron motion of noncentered particles follows. The magnetic lattice of the accelerator and its transversal focusing properties are described. Finally some second order contributions and coherent deviations caused by some errors are considered.
