Abstract
The notion of bcs ring is formulated and studied. Because bcs rings are pole-assignable, they are interesting in control theory. We prove that the following classes of rings are bcs: 0-dimensional rings, semilocal rings, 1-dimensional domains, 1-dimensional Noetherian rings. We give several examples to sketch the contour of this class of rings.
