Abstract

Crystallization of the amorphous alloys of Co-Si-B-Fe-Nb system has been investigated by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. It has been shown that the structure formed upon crystallization significantly depends on niobium concentration. The formation of nanocrystals with a bcc lattice was discovered at considerably lower iron content than it has been observed earlier. When niobium concentration is decreasing, the fraction of the nanocrystalline bcc phase decreases, niobium-free samples are multiphase and do not contain bcc nanocrystals. The average nanocrystal size also depends on niobium content and considerably decreases when niobium concentration is increasing.
