Abstract
Batteries Not Included is a national campaign, initiated by the Muscular Dystrophy Group and supported by 150 other organisations, with the single objective of securing guaranteed funding for indoor/outdoor powered wheelchairs, generally not available through the state system. This article outlines the background to the campaign and summarises the controversial findings of a recent comprehensive survey of UK wheelchair service providers.
