Abstract

The immobilization of homogeneous catalysts on support materials for incorporates the preponderance of both heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, has become a hot research topic in modern catalysis. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have received lots of attention due to their unique advantages such as high surface area to bulk ratios, low toxicity, high activity and thermal stability and the capability of surface modifications and easy dispersion. Magnetic recoverable nanocatalysts can be readily separated from reaction medium by using an external magnet, without the need for filtration, centrifugation or other tedious workup processes. In recent times, gold nanocatalysts supported on magnetic nanoparticles opened the era of gold catalysis. The catalytic potential of magnetically recoverable gold nanocatalysts was evaluated in a number of organic reactions such as synthesis of Propargylamines, coupling reactions and oxidation reactions. In this review, we focus on the application of magnetically recoverable gold nanocatalysts in organic reactions.
