Abstract

Basalt fibers are bio-based fibers produced from basalt rocks, exhibits better physic-Mechanical properties compare to glass fibers. Basalt fiber reinforced polymer composites has been widely used in many Engineering fields including aerospace applications. Continuous enhancements in its properties making this composite more reliable with the addition of small percentage of fillers. Since nano fillers have high surface energy can able to enhance the properties of the composites considerably, in this short review an effort is made understand the influence of nano fillers on mechanical, thermal and tribological properties on basalt fiber reinforced polymer composites.
