Abstract

Development of computer‐aided synthesis planning (CASP) systems in the past fifty years is introduced in this review, along with their system architecture, working principle and performance of retrosynthetic analysis. Prompted by modern algorithm, CASP system is optimistically anticipated to design green, efficient and economic synthetic routes toward target molecules in the future for chemists.
