Abstract

Stimuli-responsive materials are important for the construction of molecular switches or sensors. In their Research Article on page 2330, Mateusz Reczyński, Shin-ichi Ohkoshi, Beata Nowicka, and co-workers present room-temperature bistability in a CN-bridged Ni–Fe coordination chain, which exhibits multiresponsive behavior with electron-transfer transitions induced by temperature, light, pressure, and humidity. The material responds to these stimuli with measurable changes in magnetic properties and color.
