Abstract

DOI: 10.1002/elps.202000028 The cover picture shows a new HPCE method for the quali-quantitative analysis of animal origin chondroitin sulfate, detected as intact chains in samples and food supplements. The method is also able to separate and quantify intact chains of keratan sulfate and hyaluronic acid. The keratan sulfate could eventually be present in the samples as residue of low controlled chondroitin sulfate manufacturing processes of extraction from animal tissues, while hyaluronic acid is frequently added in the chondroitin food supplement preparations.
