Abstract

Nutrition solution combined with foliar spray of magnesium oxalate, molybdic acid combined with magnesium oxalate and boric acid combined with BA plus GA3 which were applied on Oncidium Gower Ramsey and Oncidium Honey Angel, and treatments effected on growth and flowering were evaluated in the experiment. Foliar sprayed with molybdic acid at concentration of 0.1 g/L combined with four levels of magnesium oxalate at concentration of 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2 g/L on Oncidium Gower Ramsey, that vegetative growth bud absolute growth rate were significant advanced. After boric acid applied on Oncidium Gower Ramsey and Oncidium Honey Angel, vegetative growth on bud absolute growth rate were also significantly advanced. Foliar sprayed with magnesium oxalate on Oncidium Gower Ramsey, the upper leaf(L1) thickness was significantly advanced. Spray with 0.15 g/L and 0.2 g/L magnesium oxalate resulted in the highest fresh and dry weights of pseudobulb and upper leaves, indicating the highest biomass accumulation of Oncidium Gower Ramsey and Oncidium Honey Angel respectively. Foliar sprayed with magnesium oxalate, molybdic acid combined with magnesium oxalate and boric acid resulted in root activity were higher than control on Oncidium Gower Ramsey and the root activity was higher in control on Oncidium Honey Angel. The chlorophyll contents of leaf were higher than control by foliar sprayed with molybdic acid combined with magnesium oxalate on Oncidium Gower Ramsey. When sprayed with 0.15 g/L of magnesium oxalate, the total soluble sugars had highest content of pseudobulb. Sprayed with magnesium oxalate can increase pseudobulb total soluble sugars and the starch content on Oncidium Honey Angel. Foliar sprayed with molybdic combined with 0.2 g/L of magnesium oxalate acid had highest total soluble sugars content on Oncidium Gower Ramsey in upper leaves. Foliar sprayed with molybdic acid combined with magnesium oxalate also can increase leaves and pseudobulb total soluble sugars content on Oncidium Honey Angel. After boric acid applied on Oncidium Gower Ramsey and Oncidium Honey Angel, Both total soluble sugars and the starch in the leaves and pseudobulb were higher than control. When postharvested cut flower the next generation vegetative bud had no significant growth on October in 2011, then the vegetative bud grew quickly, then the vegetative bud became maturated and flower stalk emerged on April in 2012. so the purpose of regulation of flower off-season on February do not work in this research. Although nutrition solution combined with foliar spray of magnesium oxalate, molybdic acid combined with magnesium oxalate and boric acid combined with BA plus GA3 did not affect on the vegetative growth rate and off-season flower, but could significant improve flower quality. Sprayed with 0.2 g/L of magnesium oxalate had more branches, florets and vase life on Oncidium Gower Ramsey. Sprayed with 0.1 g/L of magnesium oxalate on Oncidium Honey Angel had more branches and florets in 13.2 and 135, respectively. Sprayed with 0.1, 0.15 g/L of magnesium oxalate combined with 0.1 g/L of molybdic acid had highest branches and florets on Oncidium Gower Ramsey. The vase life in all treatment of magnesium oxalate combined with molybdic acid were higher than control on Oncidium Gower Ramsey. Sprayed with 0.1, 0.2 g/L of magnesium oxalate combined with 0.1 g/L of molybdic acid had highest florets in 146cm on Oncidium Honey Angel. Foliar sprayed with 0.1 g/L of boric acid combined with BA 199.74 μM plus GA3 0μM had highest stalk length on Oncidium Gower Ramsey. Treatment with BA 199.74 μM plus GA3 0, 577.4μM had more branches. Treatment with BA 199.74 μM plus GA3 577.4μM had more florets. The vase life in all treatment of boric acid combined with BA plus GA3 were higher than control on Oncidium Gower Ramsey. Sprayed with 0.1 g/L of boric acid combined with BA 199.74 μM plus GA3 144.35, 288.7 μM can improve flower quality, the flower stalk length and florets had much better than other treatments, especially. Sprayed with 0.1 g/L of boric acid combined with BA 199.74 μM plus GA3 0 μM had worse flower stalk length and florets. Overall, foliar spray 0.1 g/L of magnesium oxalate, 0.1 g/L of molybdic acid combined with 0.2 g/L of magnesium oxalate and 0.1 g/L boric acid combined with BA 199.74 μM plus GA3 144.35 μM can improve flower quality on Oncidium Honey Angel.
