Abstract

ABSTRACTIn the present article, responses of an electrically loaded heterogeneous circular plate of transversely isotropic multi-ferroic materials are investigated. The axisymmetric problem is solved by adopting the direct displacement method developed by the second author. The corresponding generalized displacement functions are obtained through a step-by-step integration procedure. The coupling magneto-electro-elastic fields in the plate, which exactly satisfy the upper and lower boundary conditions and approximately meet the cylindrical boundary condition, are explicitly expressed. Numerical calculations are performed for two particular plates to investigate the influence of material heterogeneity.
