Abstract
The concept of fuzzy multivalued dependencies (FMVDs) is introduced. It is concluded that FMVDs are more generalised than classical multivalued dependencies. A set of sound and complete inference rules, similar to Armstrong's axioms are proposed to derive more dependencies from a given set of FMVDs. With reference to FMVDs, inter-relationships between two-tuple subrelations and the relation, to which they belong, have been established. The proof procedures for the inference rules are based on these relationships.
