Abstract

There are many examples of nurse practitioners being reprimanded by Boards of Nursing and criminally prosecuted for inappropriately prescribing opioids for chronic noncancer pain. If an individual does overdose, and a nurse practitioner prescribed an opioid for that individual, the nurse practitioner can count on being investigated. 1 Nelson K.
